Release of the Blog Research for Independence

Research for Independence, a sector of the National Catalan Assembly, was born almost a year ago with the intention of bringing together different groups dedicated to research, from researchers to technicians, managers and students, to show our support for the independence of Catalonia, as well as the advantages of having our own state in contrast to the detriment that would cause to research to remain tied to Spain. Currently, we already have over 300 people who have expressed interest in our sector, and collaborate with it in many different ways.

In recent years, Catalan research has reached a high level. Our country possesses efficient and internationally competitive structures, but we cannot stay here. We need to boost our research system, which must be a strategic pole of the country we are building. The potential of Catalonia in the field of research must be shown, and for this reason our blog has been released in such an important date as today, 11th September 2013. In the blog we will publish news related to research, innovation and transference in Catalonia, as well as news on science policy. At the same time, our blog will serve as a platform to publicize events of our own sector or of the Catalan National Assembly. The blog aims to be an open space where all supporters can propose the publication of news or comment on them. In addition, it will show who we are, how we organize ourselves and which are our ideals, helping to gather more adhesions and collaborations.

Enjoy the blog, and participate in it!
